There is more reason to spend time on Fifth Avenue with this weeks opening of GUESS North American Flagship store, making this store the largest in the world. When asked about the brand’s newest location Paul Marciano, Vice Chairman and CEO of GUESS said, “New York is the fashion capital of the United States, with Fifth Avenue at its epicenter.”
True to the brand the aesthetic of this 13,000 square foot, two story flagship store has downtown edge feel while harboring a mix of higher end fashion. Inside you’ll find eye-catching artwork, a denim rug made from over 500 vintage jean patches, a pair of signed acid washed jeans by none other then Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger. Unfortunately Mick’s jeans are not for sale, boo! But there’s tons of other jeans that are.
The Fifth Avenue location will carry exclusively a line of European jewelry which we have not seen from GUESS before. Also there is a large selection of dresses here for the everyday GUESS girl to the higher end line of Marciano where dresses range above $300 dollars. And not to be forgotten the men’s collection is carried on the 2nd floor.
The competition in that area now is stiff within a 10-mile radius you will find Just Cavalli, Abercrombie & Fitch, A/X Armani Exchange, and Levi’s to just name a few. I say there is room for them all, you need chooses after all besides you can never have enough jeans.
