The movie for day seven in Cannes was The Beaver premiere which stars Jodi Foster and Mel Gibson. This is Mel’s real debut in a movie after all the personal baby mama drama. Besides all that though the whispers had to be Bar Refaeli’s appearance post break-up from Leo DiCaprio.
The Melancholia premiered for day eight at Cannes, in which sisters deal with the end of the world in the Lars von Trier film. Kirsten Dunst won an award as Best Actress for her performance in Lars von Trier’s Melancholia in Cannes. Unfortunately not so lucky was the von Trier himself as he was banned from Cannes.
The big trend from these two days are the color navy rules!
Jodi Foster
To her premiere of The Beaver at Cannes Jodi wore a navy one-shoulder Giorgio Armani column gown from Spring 2011 collection.
Bar Refaeli
It seems that the saying; “the best revenge is to look great” still reigns true. Leo who right?! Bar Refaeli is in a navy long sleeve Roberto Cavalli gown with cut outs in the front and back to The Beaver premiere.
Naomi Campbell
Supermodel Naomi Campbell was in a chocolate brown Azzedine Alaïa tiered gown to the Cannes premiere of The Beaver. Her hair is far from looking “super” though with this gown.
DAY 8
Kirsten Dunst
Kirsten was every bit the Chloé girl in this pleated gathered mustard jersey dress paired with Choo ‘Ontario’ nude sandals to the Melancholia Photocall.
Fan Bingbing
Fan shows off yet another gorge Couture gown, this one’s on a roll. She is in an Elie Saab lavender chiffon gown with an embroidered top, high frontal slit, and grosgrain belt to The Marche Du Film China night press conference.
Kirsten Dunst
To her premiere of Lars von Trier’s Melancholia Kirsten wore an evergreen Rodarte body hugging dress that crisscrosses at the neck. This is a custom dress for Kirsten but it very much emulates details from the Rodarte Spring 2011 RTW collection.
Jodie Foster
Jodie Foster was also in attendance at the Melancholia premiere. She chose another navy dress but this time however was just too boring, meemeemee. I sure hope Balenciaga doesn’t get too upset but this silk dress with dual gold chain halter is just not my favorite of theirs’.
Milla Jovovich
I seem to go back and forth with how I feel about this dress depending on the time of day… Although a woman can’t really turn down Prada this is a shirt dress after all, just a REAL good one. Milla wore this white with red trim shirt dress to the La Conquete premiere in Cannes.
